Smaller app: code and resources are now optimised and unused parts removed. The colugo now glides down gently when thrown. The picker and home screen follow the app's theme colours. The colugo's tail outline is fixed in the picker, and the preview keeps pets inside its edges.
Screen pet: a pixel dachshund or colugo that roams over your other apps.
A pet on screen for Android, like a desktop pet but on a phone: a small pixel dachshund or colugo that lives on top of your other apps. It walks, naps, peeks in from the edges of the screen and reacts when tapped, while everything else on the phone keeps working as usual. TWO PETS TO CHOOSE FROM The dachshund trots along the bottom of the screen, burrows under the edge and pops out again, sits down and will not budge, peeks in from the sides, barks and hops when tapped, and can be picked up, dragged and dropped. The colugo, the gliding mammal that is the Colugo mascot, naps clinging to the edge of the screen by day. In the evening it climbs the edge and glides across the screen. OUT OF THE WAY Only the pet itself catches touches. A tap anywhere around it goes to the app underneath. Switch on tap-through and the pet turns see-through, so every tap goes to the app below. Quiet mode freezes the pet on one picture and stops all movement; it still reacts when tapped or dragged. When the screen is off, the pet stops moving completely. The pet hides itself while Colugo Pet is open, and comes back afterwards. YOUR PET, YOUR WAY Four sizes. Three speeds: Calm, Steady and Brisk. Three behaviours: Wander, Stay near and Stay put. Add the Quick Settings tile to let the pet out or put it away with one tap. Turn on Start with the phone to bring the pet back after a restart. WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING The pet is drawn over other apps, so Android asks for Display over other apps. It opens that setting straight from the app, and it can be switched off there at any time. While the pet is out, Android also needs a persistent notification, which carries Pause and Stop buttons. Some screens hide overlays on purpose, such as the Settings app on Samsung phones; the pet returns when leaving them. PET DISAPPEARED? A help screen in the app checks the two things most likely to be the cause, the overlay permission and battery optimisation, and has tips for Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo phones, whose battery managers sometimes stop background apps. MADE FOR YOUR PHONE Follows your system theme and wallpaper colours. Available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese.
