A wave shooter where skeleton hordes keep coming and your squad grows with them
In Endless Assault you hold a single lane against skeletons, and they keep coming until you fall. Drag left and right to aim. Your soldier fires on its own. Shoot a gate open and another soldier joins you. It's a wave shooter with no last wave, so the only goal is getting further than last time. HOW A RUN GOES Skeletons walk toward you in packs. Kill them before they get close, because once one reaches the front it stops and starts hitting you, and it doesn't matter which side of the lane you've moved to. At least every other wave brings a gate with a number on it. That's how many hits it takes. Break it and you get one more soldier, up to a squad of 12. Once the squad is full, a gate gives you Overdrive instead: 8 seconds of faster fire and a bit of health. Most waves also send a debuff your way. Shoot it down and you get 5 HP back. Let it reach you and it takes 30% of your max health and halves your squad's fire rate for 4 seconds, which is usually when things go wrong. UPGRADES About once a minute the game pauses and you pick an upgrade, usually out of three. • Firepower, more damage for every soldier • Rapid Fire makes the whole squad shoot 25% faster • Body Armor: +40 max health, and enemy hits do a quarter less • Squad Leader gives you two soldiers right away and room for two more (take it twice and the squad tops out at 16) • Piercing Rounds, so a bullet carries on into the next skeleton Each one has a cap. You can't stack Firepower forever, so sooner or later the build has to get wider. CHAPTERS Every 10 waves is a chapter with the same mix: big swarms, waves of a few oversized skeletons with a lot of health, a rush where the packs come close together, a short breather, and a finale at the end. Clear the finale and you're healed for half your max health, which you'll need. Health also comes back slowly on its own, and faster once nothing has hit you for two seconds. Your best wave is saved and shown on the menu, so there's always a number to beat. WHAT IT ISN'T It's a wave shooter, not a campaign. There's no story, no base building, no levels to finish and no energy timer. Just the lane and as many waves as you can take. If you want a survival shooter you can play for five minutes on the bus and put down again, that's what I was going for. PRICE, ADS AND DATA Endless Assault is a free wave shooter. There are no ads and nothing to buy. It plays fully offline, so a flight or a dead zone on the train is fine. It doesn't collect anything about you. Your best wave is stored on your phone and nowhere else. You can pause at any point. If a wave feels unfair or something breaks, email filipnordquist@protonmail.com and tell me which wave it was.
