The Igbo Bible — first release. • All 66 books, 1,188 chapters — reads fully offline • A new verse of the day, every day • Search the whole text; accents are optional, so "ochichiri" finds "ọchichiri" • Save verses as bookmarks and pick up where you stopped reading • Light and dark themes • Adjustable text size and a choice of two reading typefaces
The whole Igbo Bible. Reads offline, and search doesn't need the accents.
Akwụkwọ Nsọ is the Igbo Bible, built for reading. All 66 books and 1,188 chapters are inside the app. Nothing is downloaded, nothing is streamed, and it works exactly the same with your data off — on a bus, in a village with no signal, or on a plane. READING THAT RESPECTS THE TEXT Every verse sits on its own line instead of being packed into a wall of prose, so you can find your place again after looking up. Six text sizes, and a choice of two typefaces — Gentium and Charis — both designed for African languages, so the dotted vowels and tone marks render properly instead of as empty boxes. Light and dark themes from day one, either chosen by you or following your phone. SEARCH WITHOUT THE ACCENTS Most keyboards make Igbo diacritics slow to type. So search ignores them, in both directions: type "ochichiri" and you will find "ọchichiri". Results are highlighted on the real spelling, and one tap opens the chapter around the verse. AMAOKWU ỤBỌCHỊ — A VERSE EACH DAY A new verse every day, drawn from anywhere in the whole Bible rather than a short recycled list. Copy it, share it, or save it. KEEP YOUR PLACE Save any verse to Akara and it stays there. The app remembers the last chapter you were reading and offers it back on the home screen, so you can pick up mid-book without hunting. ABOUT THIS TRANSLATION The text is the Union Igbo Bible of 1913, which is in the public domain. It uses the older orthography — you will see the subdot and the macron tone marks familiar from that edition, not modern standard Igbo spelling. PRIVACY No advertisements. No account. No sign-in. No analytics, no tracking, and no data leaves your phone. Your bookmarks and reading position are stored on your device and nowhere else. Akwụkwọ Nsọ is free, and it always opens straight to the text.
