Give your phone's IR emitter a quick check and keep the result handy.
Check your phone's built-in IR emitter and follow a simple remote camera guide.
Does your phone have an IR blaster? IR Blaster Checker shows what Android reports about your phone's built-in infrared emitter, with a clear result and a simple way to check again. Open the app to see whether Android detects an emitter or whether the result cannot be verified. Review hardware details when you want to know more, including the phone model, Android version and carrier frequency ranges reported by your device. TEST A SHORT IR PULSE On supported phones with usable frequency ranges, send a single short diagnostic pulse. The app records whether Android completed the transmission request. To check for light from your phone's emitter, use a second camera known to see infrared. A completed request alone does not prove physical emission. CHECK A REMOTE WITH A SIMPLE GUIDE Follow the optional camera guide to look for light from an infrared remote. Check the camera with a known working IR remote first, then record what you see. Camera access is optional, and written instructions are available without permission. Some cameras filter infrared, so no visible light can be inconclusive. The app does not automatically detect or measure infrared light. KEEP YOUR RESULTS Save reports, revisit earlier checks and copy or share readable text or JSON files. Reports keep Android results, transmission requests and manual observations separate. Delete individual reports with Undo, or confirm deletion of all saved reports. IR Blaster Checker checks the built-in Android Consumer IR interface. It is not a universal remote and does not test USB or Bluetooth IR accessories. It cannot add or repair IR hardware, measure emitter strength or guarantee TV compatibility.
