Use your phone as a live microphone through the speaker, headphones or Bluetooth
Mic to Speaker turns your phone into a live microphone. Speak into the phone and your voice plays straight away through its loudspeaker, wired headphones or a Bluetooth speaker. Use it as a simple megaphone for a class, a tour group, a small party or a garage band rehearsal. ONE BIG MIC BUTTON • Tap the mic to go live, tap again to stop • Hold-to-talk mode: your voice only goes out while you hold the button, like a walkie-talkie • In hold-to-talk mode, double-tap the button to mute or unmute • Live meters show the level going in and coming out, so you can see when you are too quiet or too loud, with green, amber and red zones • Keeps running with the screen off, with an ongoing notification and a Stop button so you always know the mic is on • During a free session the screen shows how much time is left CHOOSE WHERE THE SOUND GOES • Automatic, phone speaker, wired headphones or a connected Bluetooth speaker • The app shows which device is actually playing right now • Headphones give no feedback and the lowest delay • Bluetooth adds some delay (often 0.1–0.3 s), so place the speaker a few metres away from you FEEDBACK GUARD • Feedback (the loud squeal when a mic hears its own speaker) is detected automatically • The guard notches out the squealing tone and lowers the gain by 3 dB, and tells you to move the phone away from the speaker • Clear voice trims low rumble and lifts speech so words carry better • Gain slider from quiet to loud, from -6 dB to +24 dB • Noise suppression on phones that support it, plus a low-latency playback path PREMIUM • Echo and reverb: echo, karaoke, hall and stadium, with an adjustable amount • Live voice effects: megaphone, walkie-talkie, robot and alien, applied as you speak • Sirens and chimes generated on the phone: wail, yelp, hi-lo, door chime and alarm beep, with their own volume • Unlimited sessions: free sessions stop after 10 minutes, Premium has no time limit • Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Open Mic to Speaker and allow microphone access 2. Pick where the sound should play: phone speaker, headphones or Bluetooth 3. Tap the big mic button and start talking 4. Raise the gain slowly, and keep the phone a little away from the speaker TIPS FOR CLEAR SOUND • Point the phone's microphone away from the speaker; the further apart they are, the louder you can go before feedback • With the phone speaker, keep the gain low or use a headset mic, because the speaker sits right next to the mic • No sound on the meters? A call or recorder may be using the microphone; close it and try again SAFETY Turn the volume down before you start and raise it slowly. Keep the phone's microphone away from the speaker, or use headphones, to avoid feedback. Loud sound close to your ears can damage hearing, so never hold the speaker to your ear. Mic to Speaker plays out loud what the microphone hears: only use it where people know you are speaking, and never to listen in on others. The app does not amplify sound for hearing and is not a hearing aid or medical device. PRIVACY The microphone is used only while you have switched it on, and the notification is shown the whole time. Audio is processed on your device and played back immediately; it is never recorded, saved or uploaded. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics help us see which features get used and fix crashes; they never receive audio, and you can switch them off in Settings. No account. No sign-up. No ads.
