Touch Guard is a screen touch lock that shields your phone from taps you never meant to make. Guard the whole display with one tap, or block only the strip of glass that registers phantom touches, and keep using everything else.
A cracked corner that opens apps on its own, a palm that brushes the edge while you play, an aging display that keeps tapping by itself: Touch Guard places a clear, touch-ignoring layer exactly where you need it. Whatever sits underneath stays visible and keeps running.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Allow Touch Guard to display over other apps. The blocking layer relies on this one permission.
2. Draw zones over the trouble spots, or choose the full screen guard.
3. Start the guard. Touches inside the guarded area are ignored, and the rest of the phone responds normally.
▸ FIND THE PROBLEM AREA FIRST
• The touch finder marks every contact with a dot, including contacts you did not make. Leave the phone flat for a moment and watch where phantom dots appear.
• Once you know the spot, draw a zone right over it instead of guessing.
▸ GUARD ONLY WHAT IS FAULTY
• Draw rectangles, drag to move them and pull the corner dots to resize.
• Give zones a visible tint while you set them up, so you can see exactly what is covered.
• Zones are anchored to the physical glass, so a damaged edge stays covered whether you hold the phone upright or sideways.
• Useful for gaming too: cover the edges your grip keeps hitting and leave the controls in the middle free.
▸ GUARD THE WHOLE SCREEN
• One tap switches every touch off while the app below keeps showing.
• An optional start delay lets you open what you need before the guard begins.
• To end it, press and hold the small lock button for 2 seconds. Quick taps, a resting hand or an extra finger are ignored.
• The button fades out after a few seconds and can sit in whichever corner you choose.
• The display can stay awake while guarded.
▸ ALWAYS WITHIN REACH
• A Quick Settings tile starts or stops the guard from the notification shade.
• While the guard is active, a notification offers an Unlock button. When it is off, an optional notification keeps Lock buttons ready.
• A short vibration when the guard ends, if you want one.
▸ WHAT TOUCH GUARD CANNOT DO
Touch Guard ignores touches; it does not repair a digitizer or cracked glass. It keeps a failing screen usable for now; a repair is the lasting fix. Android also keeps the status bar, gesture navigation and the hardware buttons above every app layer, so on recent versions they may still respond. The app includes a walkthrough for Android's own screen pinning if you need those held in place as well. A restart always clears the guard.
▸ PREMIUM
The free version includes the full screen guard, 2 zones, the touch finder, the tile, notification controls and the pinning walkthrough, and it shows ads. Premium raises the limit to 12 zones, lets you keep several zone sets (for example one for gaming and one for everyday use), adds an auto-unlock timer from 5 to 120 minutes and an optional PIN for ending the full screen guard, and removes ads. Choose monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically and can be cancelled at any time in Google Play.
▸ PERMISSIONS, PLAINLY
• Display over other apps: draws the layer that ignores touches. It does not capture the screen or read what you type.
• Notifications (Android 13 and later): shows the Unlock button while the guard is on.
• Vibration: only for the optional buzz when the guard ends.
• Touch Guard does not use an accessibility service.
If your phone closes background apps aggressively, the setup check shows how to keep the guard running.
▸ PRIVACY
Zones, zone sets, settings and your PIN are kept on your device, and the PIN is saved only as a salted hash. Anonymous usage and crash reports help us fix bugs, and ads in the free version come from an ad network.
