A metronome for practice: clear clicks, the beat pattern you want, and it keeps going with the screen off. TEMPO - 20 to 300 BPM, set with the slider, the +/- buttons or by typing the number - Tap tempo: tap the beat and the app finds the BPM - A tempo reference guide (Largo, Andante, Allegro, Presto and more) shows where your tempo sits BEATS AND PATTERNS - Time signatures 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 7/4, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8, 9/8, 12/8, plus any custom N/4 or N/8 from 1 to 16 beats - Tap a beat to make it an accent, a normal beat or silent - Subdivisions: 8ths, triplets or 16ths, with a quieter subdivision click - Swing for 8ths, from straight (50%) to heavy swing (75%) - Optional one-bar count-in in its own sound SOUNDS - 8 click sounds, all free: Click, Wood, Hi-Hat, Cowbell, Rim, Clave, Beep and Low Wood SILENT PRACTICE - Screen flash on the beat (off until you turn it on; limited to 3 flashes a second, and above 176 BPM only accents flash) - Vibrate on the beat. Vibration is looser than the click (about 35 ms either way), so treat it as a guide PLAYS IN THE BACKGROUND - Keeps clicking with the screen off or while you use another app - Play, pause and stop from the notification or your headphone button - Pauses by itself when you unplug your headphones - Plays alongside a backing track or music app instead of stopping it PRESETS - Save your tempo, time signature, sound and beat pattern as a preset - Your first 6 presets sit as one-tap chips on the main screen - The app remembers your last settings when you reopen it METRONOME PRO (one-time in-app purchase) The metronome is free with a banner ad. Pro removes the ad and adds four practice tools: - Tempo trainer: start at your tempo, speed up by a few BPM every few bars, then hold at your target - Muted-bar trainer: play some bars, mute some bars, repeat, so you learn to keep time on your own. The beat display keeps going through the silent bars - Stop after a set number of bars - Setlists: put presets in running order, rename, reorder and delete lists, and skip to the next or previous song from the main screen or the notification Every sound, accents, subdivisions, swing, count-in, presets, flash and vibration stay free.
