Field trip organizer: roster, chaperone groups, headcounts and parent updates.
TripKeeper is a field trip organizer for teachers and trip leaders. Plan the trip, build the roster, put students in chaperone groups at each stop, count heads, and draft updates to parents, all from your phone.
Plan the trip. Give it a name, start and end dates and notes, then list the stops with an optional address and arrival and departure times.
Build the roster. Add each student with a permission slip check, medical or allergy notes, and their parent or guardian contacts (name, email and phone). Add your chaperones with their email and phone. The trip page shows how many permission slips are in.
Assign chaperone groups at every stop. Tap a student to put them with a chaperone, copy the groups from the previous stop when they stay the same, and see at a glance who is still unassigned.
Count heads. On the trip day, open a stop's headcount and tap each student as they are accounted for, grouped by chaperone. The tally stays red until everyone is counted. Show only the students not counted yet, and start the count over at the next stop.
Call a parent fast. From the groups and the headcount, tap to call a student's parent. With more than one number on file, you pick who to call.
Draft parent updates. Choose Email or SMS and a template: Departing now, On our way back, Delay update, Emergency (please call), or a custom message. Fill in the current or next stop, the ETA or how many minutes late, and edit the wording. Send to all parents or to one family. TripKeeper opens your phone's mail or messages app with the draft ready: you tap Send. Nothing is sent automatically.
Trips sort into Active and Archived. A finished trip archives itself a week after it ends, and you can archive or bring back any trip yourself.
Your trips and rosters are stored on your device and never sent to us. If Android backup is turned on, your phone's own backup to your Google account may include a copy. No account, no sign-in. TripKeeper is free and supported by ads. An optional one-time Pro purchase removes the ads; every feature is free either way.
