Set your alarm and Vichar listens. Wake up to what you said in your sleep.
Vichar turns your alarm into a sleep-talk recorder. No separate button to
remember, no app to open at bedtime — set your alarm and Vichar arms with
it. Turn the alarm off and it stops. That's the whole interaction.
WHAT YOU GET EVERY MORNING
• A timeline of every sound Vichar picked up overnight
• An on-device transcript for each one, where supported by your device
• "Play the night": one trimmed recording of everything that was said
• Loudest moment, longest stretch, and a quiet-hours percentage
YOUR AUDIO NEVER LEAVES YOUR PHONE
Recording happens entirely on-device. There is no cloud speech-to-text
and no audio upload, at any subscription tier, ever. No account required.
OPTIONAL: BRING YOUR OWN AI KEY
Want more than the transcript? Add your own API key from OpenAI,
Anthropic, Google Gemini, or Groq, and Vichar can send just the
transcript text (never audio) for a playful reading of the night, a
dream reconstruction, or patterns across several nights. This is
entirely opt-in — Vichar is a complete, useful app with no key at all.
Every AI reading carries a plain-language certainty label, because sleep
talk is mumbled and AI can be confidently wrong.
BUILT FOR AN ALARM THAT ACTUALLY WORKS
Vichar is an alarm first, tested to make sure the alarm reliably rings —
whether or not the recording or transcription has finished.
PRIVACY, TAKEN SERIOUSLY
• No account, no sign-up
• No audio ever uploaded, at any tier
• Your AI provider key lives in your device's secure keystore, never our
servers — we don't operate a server that sees it
• Delete any night, or just its audio, whenever you like
A NOTE OF HONESTY
Vichar is built for curiosity and entertainment. Transcripts (where
supported) are automatic and often imperfect. AI dream readings are
informed guesswork generated from your words alone, not analysis of you,
and are never a substitute for medical advice. Vichar does not diagnose,
detect, or monitor any sleep or health condition.
Vichar includes a 7-day free trial. After the trial, Vichar is $3.99/month,
billed through Google Play, auto-renewing until cancelled. Manage or
cancel anytime from the Play Store app → Subscriptions.
NOTE ON ANDROID FEATURE PARITY: as of this writing, Vichar's on-device
transcription is iOS-only (AndroidSpeechAdapter deliberately always reports
"unavailable" — there is no Android file-transcription API that doesn't
require a live microphone stream). Recording, the alarm, and the morning
timeline all work on Android; word-for-word transcripts do not yet. Decide
before publishing to Play whether to: (a) ship Android now with honest
copy ("transcription coming soon on Android"), or (b) hold the Play
listing until Whisper (on-device, Phase 7) lands. This file is written
for option (a); adjust the description's transcription claims if you
choose (b) to delay instead.
