Watch the important parts. Skip the rest.
VideoDigest turns a long recording into a short one that keeps only what was
actually said. A 58-minute lecture becomes a few minutes of the actual
explanations. A recorded meeting becomes the decisions. An interview becomes
the answers.
And nothing is lost: every kept moment keeps its original timestamp, so one tap
opens the full recording at that exact second, with the stretch the digest took
shaded on the scrubber.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Record in the app, or import a video you already have.
2. Choose how short you want it — 5%, 10%, 20% or 30% — with a live estimate.
3. Watch it work. The waveform lights up section by section as it picks them.
4. Play the digest. Tap any timestamp to jump back into the original.
WHAT IT IS FOR
• Students with three hours of recorded lectures a day
• Researchers and analysts with hour-long interviews
• Anyone with a folder of recorded meetings and webinars
• Creators looking for a rough cut with timecodes intact
It is built for long-form speech. It is not a highlight reel for sports or
music.
IT RUNS ON YOUR PHONE
The analysis happens on your device. Your video, your audio and your words are
never uploaded — there is no upload path in the app at all. No account, no
sign-in, nothing to breach. It works in aeroplane mode.
Your phone's own speech recognition supplies the words. The selection on top of
that is classical — term weighting, topic segmentation, cue phrases, pauses and
emphasis. No large language model is involved, and no model of ours.
When there is no speech to recognise, VideoDigest works from the audio alone
and tells you plainly that it did.
THE ORIGINAL IS NEVER TOUCHED
VideoDigest only ever reads your file. The digest is a new video beside it.
Deleting a digest never touches the recording it came from.
YOUR LIBRARY
Digests are kept, searchable and renameable. Search finds words inside your
digests, not just their titles. Change your mind about the length and it
re-cuts in moments, because the ranking is kept with the digest.
SUBSCRIPTION
VideoDigest is free to try for 14 days, then $6.99 a month. One plan, no tiers.
Making new digests is what a subscription buys — every digest you have already
made stays playable forever, subscription or not.
REQUIREMENTS
Android 8.0 or later. On-device speech recognition needs a language pack your
phone can download, and some manufacturers do not provide one; without it,
VideoDigest falls back to audio-only analysis and says so on the digest.
