Drag cue edges on the Audio waveform under the video, or press Set in here and Set out here at the playhead. Quality checks flag overlaps, fast cues and small gaps, and Sync tools include Two-point resync. Opens and exports SRT, VTT, ASS/SSA, MicroDVD SUB and SBV.
Subtitle editor with audio waveform timing, journal recovery and SRT export
This subtitle editor puts an audio waveform under your video and autosaves changes to an edit journal, helping you place cues and return to saved work. ▶ PLACE CUES ON THE SOUND • Attach a video to see its audio waveform beneath the preview. Drag the selected cue edges, tap to move the playhead, and pinch or use Zoom in and Zoom out to inspect a section. • Use Set in here and Set out here to place cue boundaries at the playhead. Move the start or end by one project-frame step for smaller adjustments. • Read the active subtitle over the video in a plain-text preview, then edit the words in wrapped, multi-line fields. ▶ AUTOSAVE AND RECOVER EDITS • Changes are saved to a project edit journal. If an interrupted session leaves journal edits to recover, the next launch offers Restore or Keep saved version. • Watch the Saved, Saving and Not saved status. A failed save keeps the current edits available for Retry. • Undo and Redo keep up to 50 steps. Text input is grouped so a typing sequence does not use a separate step for every letter. • Quality checks flag overlaps, fast reading, short or long cues, and small gaps. Tap a result to jump to its cue; adjust the reading-speed and duration limits in Quality checks. ▶ REPAIR TIMING AND WORDS • Shift all cues by a millisecond offset, use Two-point resync to align two subtitle and video anchors, or Convert FPS to change timing between frame rates. • Find and replace ignores letter case and diacritics. See the match count, jump to a matching cue, or use Replace all. • Add cues, edit start and end times, and manage named projects from Projects. ▶ WORK WITH SUBTITLE FILES • Import and export SRT, VTT, ASS, SSA, MicroDVD SUB and SBV subtitle files. • Choose an encoding and inspect a decoded preview when imported text needs another character set. • Export subtitles, then Share or Save to folder. Exports are created in the app cache; copies you share or save elsewhere are kept where you put them. • Back up projects with their subtitle sources and attached media in a manifest and ZIP parts. Restore backup parts to merge them with existing projects. ▶ GOOD TO KNOW • Subtitle imports are limited to 8 MiB. Exports use UTF-8. • Preview shows plain text, without rendering subtitle styles. ASS and SSA styles, event metadata and inline tags are preserved when exported in the same format; internal tag timing is not rescaled. Changing formats can discard styling and metadata. • Frame steps use the project FPS time grid; video frames may vary. Some media cannot provide a supported audio waveform; subtitle editing remains available. • Linked videos may need Relink video if the original moves, is deleted, or becomes inaccessible. • Typing is saved after a short delay. Check Saved before leaving; edits that have not reached storage can be lost. • Projects and edit history are stored in app storage. Analytics, diagnostic and advertising services may process usage and ad data.
