Play a piece through, see where you stopped, and keep the take with the fewest.
Build your confidence before playing on the street. Minimal Run-Through helps you check whether you can play a piece from start to finish without stopping. Play it through once, and the app shows how many times you stopped, where, and how long the run took. Record as many takes as you like; the take with the fewest stops is marked with a star. 🎹 How to use 1. Tap the microphone and play your piece. The ring fills over 10 minutes, about one slot at a street or airport piano. 2. Tap stop. The result appears straight away. 3. Tap a stop on the timeline or in the list to hear the moment, starting 3 seconds before. 4. Record more takes. The best one is marked ★. 5. Save the take you want to keep, trimmed to the playing. What you can do - Count stops, hesitations and restarts (when you went back and played a passage again) - See each stop at its real length on a timeline of the whole take - Measure the length of the performance, from the first note to the last - Pick the best take automatically: fewest stops, then fewest hesitations - Strictness: Easy, Normal or Strict - Add videos from your gallery as takes. The app checks their sound in the same way and can save a trimmed copy of the video - Save a recorded take as an M4A audio file, without the silence before and after What it does not do - It does not check whether the notes are right. It listens to the timing of the sound only - It does not provide music, sheet music or lessons - Long written rests or pauses may be counted as stops. The judgment is based on your own pace, so slow pieces are not penalised - Noisy places can make the detection less accurate - Takes are kept only while the app is open. Save the ones you want to keep - Recording stops when you leave the app. It does not record in the background 🔒 Offline and private The app works without an internet connection and does not request internet access. The only permission is the microphone, used while you record a take. Audio stays on your phone and is never uploaded. There is no account, and no analytics, ads or tracking. Design Portrait layout with light and dark themes. The screens use icons and numbers instead of text where possible. Support All features are available without payment. If you would like to support development, there are three optional in-app items (Coffee, Lunch and Dinner-sized Support). They do not unlock anything.
