Manual ISO, shutter as an angle or 1/x, focus and white balance, within what your phone's camera reports, with a live histogram. Pick resolution up to 4K, frame rate, codec and bitrate, and save looks as Presets. The Device tab shows what each camera supports.
Manual video camera with ISO, shutter angle, focus and white balance control
Manual Cine is a pro video camera with manual controls: set ISO, shutter, focus and white balance yourself and film with the shutter shown as an angle at your frame rate — 180° at 24 fps is 1/48 s. ▶ MANUAL EXPOSURE • ISO and shutter by hand, inside the range your camera reports. • Shutter as an angle (11.25° to 360°) or as 1/x, never longer than one frame. • Exposure compensation in your camera's own steps, plus AE lock. • Where the camera has no priority mode, ISO and shutter go manual together, starting from the current auto values so the picture doesn't jump. • The values row shows what the camera actually applied, not only what you asked for. • Where the camera meters it, the exposure offset in stops; where it reports the aperture, the EV100 of your settings. ▶ FOCUS AND WHITE BALANCE • Manual focus from near to far (in meters on lenses that report a distance scale), or continuous autofocus. • White balance in Kelvin (2,000–10,000 K) with tint, plus presets such as Tungsten, Fluorescent, Daylight and Shade, on cameras that support Kelvin. Other cameras get their own presets, an approximate warmth control or AWB lock. ▶ FRAMING AIDS • Live histogram, rule-of-thirds or center grid, and a level. • 2.39 and 1.85 frame lines. • The screen stays on while the camera is open. ▶ FORMAT • Resolution and frame rate from the modes your camera reports: up to 4K, and 24, 25, 30, 48, 50, 60 or 120 fps. • H.264 or HEVC where the phone offers it. Low, Standard or High bitrate, with the Mbps shown. • Sound on (AAC, 48 kHz mono) with a level meter while recording, or muted. • Switch between the back, front, ultra-wide and tele cameras your phone reports. ▶ PRESETS • Save up to 40 looks: resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, ISO, shutter and white balance. • On another camera, values it can't do are adjusted, and you're told. ▶ LIBRARY • Every clip stays in the app with its length, resolution, fps, codec, size, bitrate and the ISO, shutter and white balance it started with. • Add clips to your photo library automatically or one at a time (add-only), share them or delete them. • If the app is closed mid-recording, the clip is checked on the next launch: a playable file is kept, an unfinished one is marked so you decide. ▶ YOUR CAMERA, CHECKED • The Device tab lists, per camera, the ISO and shutter range, exposure compensation, aperture, focus, white balance, video modes and exposure aids. • Controls a camera doesn't report are hidden instead of failing. ▶ GOOD TO KNOW • Which controls you get depends on your phone's camera. Some cameras only offer auto exposure with AE lock and compensation. • Each clip shows the bitrate it was set to record at; the encoder may record at a lower rate. • Recording stops when the phone reports it is too hot, and the app tells you why. A recording only starts with at least 300 MB of storage available (more at high bitrates). • Backups (the last 3 daily snapshots) cover presets, settings and the clip list, not the video files. • Clips stay on your phone. No account. The microphone is used only while you record with sound on. • Up to 2,000 clips in the library. • Ads appear on the Library screen and sometimes after you leave the camera — never while the camera is open or recording.
