The floor gets the paperwork before it gets the epoxy.
Two things take a coating off a slab: water from underneath, and prep that did not hold. Eighteen months later, whoever wrote things down on the day is the one not paying for the redo. Slab age and position, bare concrete or paint, old epoxy or a sealer, cracks, then an eight-box checklist counting the evidence.
MOISTURE TESTS THAT DO THEIR OWN MATH
Calcium chloride dish (ASTM F1869), in-slab relative humidity probe (ASTM F2170) or a 24-hour taped plastic sheet (ASTM D4263). Mix methods on one floor; each point keeps its own. For a dish, enter mass before, mass after, the exposed area off your kit label and the hours it sat, and the MVER comes back in lb/1,000 sq ft/24 h and g/m²/24 h.
THE THRESHOLD IS YOURS
Readings are measured against the number you typed in off the coating manufacturer's technical data sheet. There is no table inside this app and no verdict: it never tells you a floor is fit to coat. A dish that lost weight, one lifted before 24 hours, one left past 96, a point reading three times the middle of the others: each raises a note, and your number stays as measured.
POINTS ON THE DRAWING, A COUNTDOWN TO EACH
Sketch the slab and drop a marker where each dish goes. Place it and a reminder is set for the hour it is due, with a live countdown. Overdue dishes stay on the list.
GRIT AND PASSES BURNT INTO THE PICTURE
Enter the grit, the pass count and the machine once. Every photo afterwards carries them in the pixels with the time and place, and the untouched original is filed beside the stamped copy: before grinding, after grind, cracks repaired, joints, finished floor.
MATERIALS AND BATCH NUMBERS
Keep your own products with their spread rate, kit size, coats and waste factor, and the floor you measured becomes whole kits of primer, base and topcoat and bags of flake. Photograph the tin and the app lists the lines it read, batch-like first. Search any job by batch number.
THE WAIVER IS THE PAGE THAT PAYS FOR ITSELF
Readings over your threshold, or a customer who turned the test down: either way there is a signed page naming the blocking primer you quoted, in your wording, saved as a template.
WARRANTY CERTIFICATE IN YOUR WORDS
One, two, five or ten years, or lifetime. Tick what is covered and what is not: hot tire pickup, moisture from below where no blocking primer went in, impact, chemicals, oil and salt, work by others. Your logo and license number, signed on the glass before you leave. Signing locks the record, and every export prints its own SHA-256.
GARAGE FLOORS, BASEMENTS AND SMALL COMMERCIAL
Imperial or metric, with the MVER printed both ways. A slab under 28 days old, below grade, or on grade with a vapor retarder nobody can vouch for is flagged as worth more test points, and the call stays yours.
WARRANTY DOCUMENTATION YOU HAND OVER
- Surface Preparation Record PDF, the report a manufacturer asks for: job, slab, point map, readings, photos, materials, batches
- Warranty Certificate, Moisture Waiver and a combined file for a claim
- Readings CSV, materials CSV, ZIP of stamped and original photos
NO ACCOUNT, NO PORTAL
Nothing is uploaded. Readings, photos and signatures sit on the phone until you back up or share a file, and the backup opens with a passphrase you choose, not a key trapped on this phone.
NOT A COATING INSPECTION KIT
The record behind concrete floor coatings: epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurea, urethane cement. It does not read dry film thickness, calculate dew point or grade a blast profile.
FOR
Garage floor and epoxy flooring contractors, one van or five. Polished concrete crews. Basement, shop and warehouse floors.
