The proof of a clean dryer vent is two numbers and four photographs. Take both on site and hand over the signed PDF before you pack the rods.
Meter the duct. Clean it. Meter it again. The change lands at the top of page one, photographs carry their own timestamp, recommended work carries a price the homeowner ticks and signs for, and the address goes onto next year's due list.
BEFORE AND AFTER, IN YOUR OWN UNITS
Enter each reading as the instrument shows it: airflow meter in CFM, anemometer in FPM, manometer in inches of water column. Pick the duct diameter from 3, 4, 5 or 6 inch and an FPM reading converts to CFM, and that figure is the one compared and printed. A duct reading zero beforehand is written up as fully blocked, not forced into a percentage. No meter?
NO PASS, NO FAIL, NO NUMBER OF OURS
No acceptable-airflow constant exists anywhere in this app, and it will not call a duct safe, compliant or up to code. That figure belongs to the appliance manufacturer and to the rules where you work; work to one and you type it in yourself, and the report prints it as your figure, for that one house. A reading that moves the wrong way asks for a re-check, never a fail notice.
FOUR PHOTOGRAPHS, ALWAYS THE SAME FOUR
Exterior hood before. Behind the dryer before. The lint you pulled out. Duct and hood after. The clock is burned into the image, so it survives forwarding. Allow location and coordinates go in too. Next year, the last frame sits faintly behind the viewfinder so you line up the same shot.
THE DUCT, ON PAPER
Run length in feet or metres, ninety and forty-five degree elbows counted. Rigid metal, semi-rigid aluminum, foil flex or vinyl, the last flagged replace. Where it leaves the house: side wall, roof or rim joist. Hood: good, stuck, damaged, painted shut or missing. Bird screen present, clogged or gone.
PRICED, TICKED, SIGNED AT THE DOOR
Nine standard recommendations are there to price, from rigid metal in place of flexible duct to a new hood or a rerouted run. The customer ticks what they accept, the accepted total sits above the signature panel, and they sign on the glass. Signing locks the record: corrections ride on as dated amendments, the signed copy stays as it was, and every PDF carries a hash of its own contents.
TWELVE MONTHS FROM TODAY
A signed report drops the address onto the due list at six, twelve, eighteen or twenty-four months. One notification on the first of the month says who is due, and the list calls, texts or emails them. Set a visit price and the list totals the month; that figure never prints on a report.
WHAT LEAVES THE PHONE
- A one-page PDF: before, after, the change, duct survey, photographs, debris weight, recommended work, signature. Share or print it from the handset
- A CSV of every duct you have done, twenty-five columns, meter type to next due date
- A backup archive holding the database and every photograph
WHAT THIS IS NOT
A cleaning and inspection record, one duct at a time, built on a before-and-after ventilation test. Not an air balance report: no design airflow column, no system totals, no commissioning worksheet, no certificate. Dryer vents, HVAC ducts, chimneys, gutters and bathroom exhaust fans are the service types you pick from.
NO SIGNAL, NO ACCOUNT, NO PROBLEM
Nothing to sign into. The app declares no internet permission at all, so a report leaves the handset only when you export, share or print it. No signal is an ordinary working condition. No ads on any tier.
WHO IT IS FOR
Dryer vent and air duct cleaning technicians, chimney sweeps who take vent work, and one-truck operators.
