Write the annual vehicle inspection where the truck is, not off a clipboard later.
This is the federal annual inspection - the yearly periodic inspection - not the driver's daily pre-trip report (DVIR): 97 checklist lines across 14 systems, lining and stroke wheel by wheel, a photo on anything that failed, two signatures, one PDF filed under the VIN. The lines restate the public federal appendix, and every report prints the checklist revision and the date the source was last checked.
Independent app, not affiliated with any government agency. Official sources are listed at the end.
ONE PASS, ONE FORM
Fourteen systems line by line: brakes, coupling devices, steering, suspension, frame, exhaust, fuel, lighting, tires, wheels and rims, windshield, wipers, cargo securement, passenger-carrying items. Lines that cannot apply are dropped: a trailer is never asked about steering, exhaust or fuel. Your shop's extra checks are typed once in Settings and print in their own block.
NUMBERS ON THE AXLE
Brake lining and pushrod stroke, wheel by wheel, on an axle diagram you tap. Tread depth in 32nds, the steer axle held to its own reference. Steering lash, system pressure, tire pressure. The reference values are yours: a figure past them is highlighted, the mark stays yours. Inches and millimetres together.
PROOF THAT TRAVELS
A defect photo is kept twice: the untouched original, and a stamped copy with date, VIN and item name burned into the pixels. Hold the camera on the VIN plate: the app keeps the reading several frames agree on and runs the check digit. Both signatures go on the glass, a SHA-256 hash prints on the report, and Verify recomputes it later. Once signed, a report is locked and a correction opens a linked re-inspection.
DECAL AND STICKER TRACKING
Enter a roll as a number range with supplier and purchase date. Every number carries a status - in stock, applied, damaged, lost, voided - and one already on another unit is refused. Low-stock warning, reconciliation view, CSV out. Each decal is reminded 60, 30 and 14 days ahead, with Call and Text on the carrier.
YOUR QUALIFICATION, ON THE FORM
Record what you rely on - certification, training, relevant experience, air brake experience - photograph up to five certificates and be reminded before yours expires. A qualification summary prints on every report.
WHAT COMES OUT
A multi-page letter PDF: vehicle, carrier, inspector, measurements, failed items, notes, signatures, decal, qualification, photo appendix. Print it, or export CSV and a per-vehicle ZIP. Bay mode for gloves and daylight.
WHAT IT WILL NOT DO
It does not decide pass or fail. It does not certify you or the vehicle, gives no legal advice, and makes no claim about your FMCSA compliance. You mark every line; your name and station go on the front of the form.
NOTHING LEAVES THE PHONE
The app declares no internet permission. No sign-in: reports, photos and signatures stay on this device until you send them through a share sheet you opened yourself. No ads at any tier. Backup is one AES-256 ZIP under a password you choose; PIN and fingerprint lock the app.
For the certified inspector, the independent inspection station and the mobile diesel tech who signs the annual for a small fleet.
Unlock with a weekly or yearly plan, or a single purchase. The price shows in the app before you buy.
