An equipment inspection report written at the machine, not typed up afterwards. Photograph the data plate, run the checks that belong to that unit, mark the damage where it is, and hand the buyer a dated PDF before the truck pulls out.
THE DATA PLATE, READ OFF A PHOTOGRAPH
Aim the camera at the stamped plate. Text recognition runs on this phone and fills in manufacturer, model, serial, volts, amps, watts, phase, hertz, gas, BTU/h, refrigerant and build date. What it cannot read stays blank, and each field it filled sits beside a crop of the characters it read, so you catch the S that was really a 5. The plug, the cord and the gas and water connections go down next to it. Photograph a model you have done before and your own earlier entry comes back, dated. No specification database.
A CHECKLIST BUILT FOR THAT MACHINE
Pick refrigeration and the steps are compressor start, cabinet temperature, cooldown, gasket seals, evaporator fan, drain clear. Pick a gas range and it is ignition, every burner, set point, hi-limit, gas connection. Reach-in one, two or three door, undercounter cooler, prep table, walk-in, ice machine, range, fryer, griddle, charbroiler, oven, combi oven, steamer, undercounter, door-type and conveyor dishwasher, mixer, slicer, food processor, hot holding, cold well, heat lamp and hood each bring a starter list you can edit. A step is a pass, a fail, a reading, a timer, a photo or a note. The cooldown runs in the background while you strip the next unit, and a notification tells you when to read the cabinet. You type the target, the report prints your reading beside it, and stops. This app never grades a machine: the word on the front page is yours.
THE DAMAGE, AND FIVE FRAMES ALREADY WAITING
Tap the outline and a numbered dot lands there: dent, scratch, rust, missing part, crack or stain, cosmetic or functional. It is kept as a position, so a buyer with the printed page can walk round and find number four. Then five named slots: front with the door shut, interior with shelves in, the plate in focus, the back with compressor or burners, and everything included laid out. Shelves, baskets and casters are counted there.
YOUR TERMS, THEN A SIGNATURE
Sold as-is, thirty days parts and labor, ninety days, or wording you type yourself: this app ships no legal text. The buyer signs on the glass at handover and the record is fingerprinted and locked. Every unit carries a QR asset tag from your own prefix, printed on Avery or A4 label stock, and the scanner opens that record in the aisle.
AT THE TRUCK, NOT AFTER IT LEAVES
A reach-in that arrives and will not pull down is an argument you cannot win with blurry photos and the words tested and working. Return freight on a pallet runs into the hundreds before the refund is mentioned. Write the record while the machine is in front of you.
WHAT LEAVES WITH THE BUYER
- The condition and function test report PDF: plate photo, power and connection, every reading beside its target, the damage diagram, what is included, your terms
- A receipt with signature and date, an asset label sheet, one PDF covering every unit when a whole kitchen moves, and the yard as a dated spreadsheet: your test log
- A listing paragraph written from the report, ready to paste into a marketplace ad, with no price
NOTHING LEAVES THE PHONE
No account, no server, no sign-in. Units, photos, readings and signatures live in this phone's own database, so a stockroom with no signal is still a full inspection. Back up everything to a folder you pick, restore on a new handset. No advertising on any plan: no ad SDK is in the build, and a buyer signs for a three-thousand-dollar machine here.
WHO IT IS FOR
Dealers and liquidators in used and second-hand restaurant equipment. Commercial kitchen resale, refurbishers. Auctioneers and consignment yards at intake. Chains closing a site.
PURCHASE
A weekly or yearly subscription, or one lifetime purchase. Price and billing period are shown in the app before you buy.
